My horizon...

When last I left, school was starting in three weeks and Stephen was on the verge on being homeschooled because of stupid stuff going on in our school district. Well now, school starts in 4 days and Stephen is safely installed in a public school.
The last time I wrote, I was also enjoying some semblance of anonymity in my new ward, teaching Primary (Emily's class). I was figuring I'd serve quietly there for a while and have time to settle into my ward on my own terms. I was wrong. Two weeks ago, our bishop asked me to serve as the Young Women's President here. Needless to say I was stunned. This was a completely unexpected turn of events. ( I only know ONE youn woman here and even fewer parents!!) So, regardless of my being "fired" from the same job in Okinawa (well, I was released on good terms) They found me. Remember that line in "Back to the Future" when Marty and Doc are in the mall parking lot and the Libyans drive up in their VW van? "Oh my [gosh], they found me, I don't know how but they found me..." That's what was running through my head.
I'm a little more used to the idea now and have been trying to remember some of the good stuff I did before.
Hopefully, I don't disappoint. :)

ramblings

I think that this might end up just being random thoughts from me when I'm coherent and not chasing one of my kids. Hence the name. :)
Life in Monterey County is idyllic. The weather is great, the people have been nice (so far) and the kids have found friends. They started school today (Aug. 4) and that was an adventure! Long story that I'm too lazy to type. I may end up taking Stephen's schooling in hand but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I start school in about three weeks and I'm wondering if I have enough brain cells left to keep my home up, do things for Dan, take care of the kids AND go to school full time. We shall see. In any case, I have posted on my very own blog. With any luck, I'll do this regularly.

Until next time....
